In 200,000 years on Earth, humanity has upset the balance of the planet, established by nearly four billion years of evolution. The price to pay is high, but it's too late to be a pessimist: humanity has barely ten years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of its spoliation of the Earth's riches and change its patterns of consumption.
1. 20% of the world's population consumes 80% of its resources.
2. The world spends 12 times more on military expenditures than on aid to developing countries.
3. 5,000 people a day die because of dirty drinking water.
4. 1 billion people have no access to safe drinking water.
5. Nearly 1 billion people are going hungry.
6. Over 50% of grain traded around the world is used for animal feed or biofuels.
7. 40% of arable land has suffered long-term damage.
8. Every year, 13 millions hectares of forest disappear.
9. One mammal in 4, one bird in 8, one amphibian in 3 are threatened with extinction.
10. Species are dying out at a rhythm 1,000 times faster than the natural rate.
11. Three quarters of fishing grounds are exhausted, depleted or in dangerous decline.
12. The average temperature of the last 15 years have been the highest ever recorded.
13. The ice cap is 40% thinner than 40 years ago.
14. There may be at least 200 million climate refugees by 2050.

An Indian proverb says that When the last tree is cut down, the last fish eaten and the last stream poisoned, then you will realize that you cannot eat money. We should take action. NOW!
We must stop deforestation and we have to afforest the places where sometimes were healthy trees. We have to research for other types of energy. We discovered that we can use the solar energy, waves energy, wind energy, geothermal water, alternatives energy, which all know can replace fuel sources, must be promoted. The most important thing is that the alternatives energy don't pollute. The greenhouse gases emissions will decrease greatly. In the picture below is shown a chart of global fossil carbon emissions since 1800.

So, we have to think at our childreen future. If we pollute, we destroy our Earth, which is not divided, it's our HOME, a share home for 6.7 billions people and a home for billions and billions of creatures. It's in our hands to save our home. Take action, or faster&faster we'll do what none of earthquakes, tsunami, avalanches, floods, landslides, volcanic eruptions, windstorms had ever done.
